jbr will be BACK IN NYC, and the two of us have belated birthdays to celebrate.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 4 December 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

we also must celebrate finishing the first semester

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Monday, 4 December 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

YES

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:15 (nineteen years ago)

Oh shit shit shit, I just RSVPed to something else for that night. I think I can go later, though. Are we planning noise dinner??

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:19 (nineteen years ago)

can we do this late? i'm going to a show at the japan society @ 7:30... also: we celebrate my awesome little sister being here!

tehresa (tehresa), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:31 (nineteen years ago)

^^^^ian: this means your presence is required

tehresa (tehresa), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:31 (nineteen years ago)

I assume noize night will involve both dinner (Ethiopian?) and drinks -- I can sign up for dinner, at least. Then I have karaoke commitment.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:32 (nineteen years ago)

mmmm ethiopian! mmm ethiopian!

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:43 (nineteen years ago)

we can party all night long to accommodate earlycomers and latecomers

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Monday, 4 December 2006 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

i mentioned this to tr, but as it turns out one of my closest friends is having her bday/xmas party the same night. i might be able to do dinner, but unfortunately wouldn't have time for the amazing ecuadorian in sunset park. i'm supposed to try the new ethiopian (meske1) on weds and will report back.

Lauren (lauren), Monday, 4 December 2006 21:10 (nineteen years ago)

I think i go to japan society too :(

jw (ex machina), Monday, 4 December 2006 23:50 (nineteen years ago)

lame

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Monday, 4 December 2006 23:51 (nineteen years ago)

i'm not a super big ethiopian fan :(

but yeah i am up for dinner early and drinks for later

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 02:54 (nineteen years ago)

well somebody pick someplace good

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 04:42 (nineteen years ago)

aw wish i could eat ethiopians! somehow i always miss opportunities to do so and it's now been years since i have!

where you guys wanna drink later?

tehresa (tehresa), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 04:48 (nineteen years ago)

i have the same karaoke engagement as laurel, but i'm sure i'll meet up with you kind & gentle ladies at some point in the evening. i'd be really mad at myself if i didn't.

ian (orion), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 06:04 (nineteen years ago)

can't do this -- my woman is getting back from a big trip that morning and best friends are having xmas party that night.

but i cheated and hit lauren's ecuadorian rec two weeks ago with the fam. wifey's chicken rice was just so so. i ordered seafood casserole and it was ridiculous. 9 dollars for an amazing clams, fish, mussels, and generous crab meat stew inna peanut curry stylee. i didnt know SA did peanuts.

obi strip (sanskrit), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 06:17 (nineteen years ago)

awesome. that's going on the list for my next visit. if you go back, get the baby pig and the rice with black clams.

what about turkish for saturday?

Lauren (lauren), Tuesday, 5 December 2006 14:23 (nineteen years ago)

turkish where?

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

drinks where later?

tehresa (tehresa), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

taksim opened a branch in the e. vill, and it's supposed to be killer.

Lauren (lauren), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:25 (nineteen years ago)

I am liable to be totally skint by this weekend, or to be hoarding my remaining cigarette money for next week. So I'll have to advise as events develop. :(

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:28 (nineteen years ago)

taksim opened a branch in the e. vill, and it's supposed to be killer.

i love it when a plan comes together!

now: drinks nearby, where?

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:42 (nineteen years ago)

my one suggestion would be to have dinner on the early side. the restaurant could probably more easily accommodate a group this way, and then the drinkers would have a better chance of staking out bar space on a prime night.

Lauren (lauren), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:52 (nineteen years ago)

i'm down with that, it's just a matter of getting people out of their apartments early on a saturday night.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:56 (nineteen years ago)

Gawd, JB, it's like you've MET us or something.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:58 (nineteen years ago)

posted this on happy thread, meant to post it here:

do you guyses want to meet for lunch instead of dinner? i got an e-mail from rosemary who says that early afternoon would be better.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Thursday, 7 December 2006 23:04 (nineteen years ago)

I don't have anything DEFINITE scheduled for Sat afternoon, but there are about six things I SHOULD be doing. :( That's prime errand/chore time. Can TRZ get the train and still get home in time for an earlyish dinner? Maybe meet at 5?

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 7 December 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

i'll let her answer that.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Thursday, 7 December 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

i could totally do lunch!
have show at 730 but would love to eat with you guys if it's early enough! if not, i will def have drinkz later

tehresa (tehresa), Friday, 8 December 2006 01:07 (nineteen years ago)

I am going to the craft fair at The Warsaw. I was going to go there early, but I am up for meeting for lunch first if that fits schedules better.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 8 December 2006 03:12 (nineteen years ago)

I'm game saturday as long as there are some bros so I don't get the estrogen cold shoulder

jw (ex machina), Friday, 8 December 2006 05:29 (nineteen years ago)

if i is teh invited i will not give you neither shoulder nor estrotitties

forksclovetofu (forksclovetofu), Friday, 8 December 2006 05:45 (nineteen years ago)

also: anyone want to do brunch on sunday? i have still never been to essex...

tehresa (tehresa), Friday, 8 December 2006 13:21 (nineteen years ago)

keep me posted, rz/jb.

tehresa - try alias instead of essex, which sounds good but is in reality pretty mediocore and usually filled w/ morons.

Lauren (lauren), Friday, 8 December 2006 14:47 (nineteen years ago)

Early dinner is better for me than lunch. Sorry, but it's true. :(

TRZ, I hope the Warsaw fair is awes, I got SO much stuff there last year but sadly I have no budget this weekend. Ditto for La Superette in Chelsea, if you get the chance.

TZA, sorry I have to pass on brunch b/c of aforementioned budget. I might make pancakes & bacon at home, though. And I think Essex is only worthwhile if you know the waitress and therefore don't pay for any drinks.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 8 December 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

ok well let's have lunch and i'll meet up w/ laurel and whoever else another time. at this point i'll let r/z take over the plan-making because i have a plane to catch!

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Friday, 8 December 2006 17:18 (nineteen years ago)

okay brunches/lunches it is! noizes dudez are totally welcome too.

any good places for that in brooklyn?

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 8 December 2006 18:00 (nineteen years ago)

I will bro/gurl down in my neck of the woods in honor of this glorious transcontinental summit of belated birf.

David RER (Frank Fiore), Friday, 8 December 2006 18:03 (nineteen years ago)

Is 12 or 2 better for people?

also, if I don't have your #, please email me!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 8 December 2006 23:31 (nineteen years ago)

12 or 2 on sat or sun?

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 9 December 2006 00:43 (nineteen years ago)

saturday!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 9 December 2006 04:21 (nineteen years ago)

Ok, I will text/call whoever I have numbers for when I get there.

See you soon.

Maybe.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 9 December 2006 12:23 (nineteen years ago)

tr, i emailed you, but you've probably left already.

we've just gotten up and probably won't make it anywhere by 12 or whenever, but if drinks are arranged for this evening, someone please to get in touch! japan society thing at 7:30 but after that we're good for anything.

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 9 December 2006 16:23 (nineteen years ago)

tehresa, e-mail me your cell # and i'll get in touch with you about later. as for lunch/brunch, if anyone feels like stumbling over to the odessa on avenue a for some disco fries, r/z and i will be there from about 2pm on.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Saturday, 9 December 2006 17:34 (nineteen years ago)

Ha Odessa!

Give me a call tonight dudes

jw (ex machina), Saturday, 9 December 2006 17:39 (nineteen years ago)

elmo albatross (allocryptic), Saturday, 9 December 2006 17:44 (nineteen years ago)

JBR, Roze has my number, would you get it from her at lunch and give me a ring about dinner plans?

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 9 December 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

And welcome back!

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 9 December 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

jbr i sent email to webmail... hope that works

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 9 December 2006 18:01 (nineteen years ago)

didn't go through, but i just realized i forgot to tick "allow registered users to send webmail" on the settings page.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Saturday, 9 December 2006 21:50 (nineteen years ago)

is it activated now?

jon and laurel have my digits, too

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 9 December 2006 21:51 (nineteen years ago)

I'm going to karaoke at 9pm on the LES. JB, what is evening plan??

Laurel (Laurel), Saturday, 9 December 2006 22:02 (nineteen years ago)

is it activated now?

yep! evening plans are still being hashed out but they may involve a bar in brooklyn later on. or not, i'm a little sick and jetlagged... we'll see how i feel in a few hours.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Saturday, 9 December 2006 22:19 (nineteen years ago)

k sent you digitz

tehresa (tehresa), Saturday, 9 December 2006 22:22 (nineteen years ago)

still nothing, but i just sent you webmail...

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Saturday, 9 December 2006 22:37 (nineteen years ago)

i'm a little sick and jetlagged... we'll see how i feel in a few hours.

update: still sniffly and sneezy and snotty. let's meet up another night when i'm feeling better and everyone doesn't have scheduling conflicts -- i'm going to be around for the rest of december and the beginning of january.

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Sunday, 10 December 2006 01:29 (nineteen years ago)

sorry to miss some of you :(

but i have all your numbers now!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Sunday, 10 December 2006 01:39 (nineteen years ago)

ok so we plan better for another day. sorry you're feeling crappity, jbr... but we have time so let's make this happen properly soon!

tehresa (tehresa), Sunday, 10 December 2006 04:42 (nineteen years ago)

HEY GUYZ!

WE NEED RRROBYN DRINKZ THIS WEEKEND!
FRIDAY??

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 03:00 (nineteen years ago)

yes!

j.m. goatse (get bent), Thursday, 14 December 2006 03:13 (nineteen years ago)

ORLY.

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 06:54 (nineteen years ago)

obv i am in
friday, and/or saturday, i am in. houseparty, bar, y'know. seriously, i am just hanging out. it is pretty sweet.

nyc is like, no, i won't get into that, but it's good, even if it makes me feel like my life is not accelaterated to the Xtreme. so okay with that.

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 14 December 2006 08:16 (nineteen years ago)

I do not know rrrobyn, but wd like to meet (Fri tho, as Sat I may be visiting Sis after her C-section!)

Dr M (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 14 December 2006 14:35 (nineteen years ago)

UNKY MORBS

obi strip (sanskrit), Thursday, 14 December 2006 14:44 (nineteen years ago)

friday i work til 10 and will gladly meet up with folks thereafter.

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

I fear I will need to go home and NAP on Friday, even though I don't want to sleep a wink while Canadienne is here, but tonight isn't gonna be early either and by tomorrow eve I will be a brittle, crying mess.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:22 (nineteen years ago)

morbs gets to be the "funny" uncle... I've been prepping my whole life to be "funny uncle" but I don't have siblings u_u

jw (ex machina), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:24 (nineteen years ago)

you can be "funny uncle" to my kids, jon.

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:26 (nineteen years ago)

by "funny" you mean "gay," right?

Jessie the Monster (scarymonster), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:27 (nineteen years ago)

Jessie the Treat.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

when i think jon i don't really think "gay" though :\

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

every time i see ian he brags about how many kids he's going to have one day

obi strip (sanskrit), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:43 (nineteen years ago)

it's not so much that jon is gay, it's that every kid needs a gay uncle.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonster), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:44 (nineteen years ago)

morbs gets to be the "funny" uncle

I hope by that you mean the one who sez "Don't believe the shit your parents tell you."

My funny uncle (swore plentifully, let us stay up late) was str8, and we found out after he died that he'd been boffing some waitress for several years (in his early 70s).

Dr M (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

every time i see ian he brags about how many kids he's going to have one day

WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT WITH NOIZE DADS?

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:47 (nineteen years ago)

Ian is going to have a sluagh of children, and they will play soccer and have violin lessons which Ian will pick them up from, and they'll walk back home on a suburban sidewalk and kick at leaf piles and commiserate about teachers who hate fun. Being a dad is awesome!

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:47 (nineteen years ago)

(they'll only play soccer and have violin lessons if they WANT to, though. they can have any kind of lessons they want!)

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:57 (nineteen years ago)

Were you one in a past life? XPOST

jw (ex machina), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:57 (nineteen years ago)

Yes yes, it was just an example. Circus arts lessons for some and tiny violins for others! (XP)

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Ian, I can say without a doubt (based on FACTS that Laurel provided) that you'd be teh best dad ever.

David RER (Frank Fiore), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:04 (nineteen years ago)

I wasn't a gay uncle but I HAVE ONE, he collects motorcycles and is awesome. xxpost

Jessie the Monster (scarymonster), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:30 (nineteen years ago)

it's not so much that jon is gay, it's that every kid needs a gay uncle.

so you're saying that since i have two sisters and no brothers for the sake of my nephew i should start fagging it up?

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:39 (nineteen years ago)

yes, but not with the nephew.

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:40 (nineteen years ago)

my funny uncle wasn't gay but he was a drunk. we used to wonder why uncle john was going to the corner store on xmas day for more "orange juice" and was really amazed at how he would go from moaning and mumbling early in the day to being downright chatty after his 6th glass of o.j.

this is the same uncle who claimed he was "rolled by a chinaman" when the somerville p.d. found him passed out and bleeding in an alley in winter hill.

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:42 (nineteen years ago)

i think i'll just follow in uncle john's footsteps and be the funny drunk uncle instead of the funny gay uncle. at least this way i don't have anything new to learn.

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:42 (nineteen years ago)

my drunk uncle is homeless and missing :/

jw (ex machina), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

"rolled by a chinaman"

is it wrong to find it funny when people use the word "chinaman"?

v (sleep), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

definitely not!

ian (orion), Thursday, 14 December 2006 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, hm, saturday might be better, i don't know. i was thinking about doing some sightseeing on friday and will prob be whiped out by night-time. but at the same time, am always good for a non-late night thing.

i haven't left the house yet, ohnoes. there is a baby grand piano in this place (place is srsly small, 6 floors up, no elevator, yet a piano??) and it's been keeping me indoors, haha. awesome weather today though wow

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 14 December 2006 17:41 (nineteen years ago)

wouldn't it be warm enough for noise lunch tomorrow?

Dr M (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 14 December 2006 17:44 (nineteen years ago)

i haven't seen uncle john since my grandmother died a decade ago. by that time he'd quit drinking as he was in his late 50s/early 60s. this was after he got robbed and beaten while stumbling home in alston, he was beaten so severely that he was in a coma for 2 weeks. he was a shell of himself at his mother's funeral, he went from 6' 6" 240 lbs. down to probably 175. gaunt, sunken, he looked like the frame of the man i used to know. don't know where he is now, not sure anyone does.

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

OK STOP SIDETRACKING

FRIDAY??? YES???? COME ONE PEOPLE, NO REPEATS OF LAST WEEKEND!!!

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 18:47 (nineteen years ago)

yes me

Dr M (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 14 December 2006 19:34 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, okay, Friday!

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 19:36 (nineteen years ago)

that's more like it!

i have dinner plans but post dinner, we drink!

suggestions as to where???

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 21:48 (nineteen years ago)

No, actually it's sheer madness to try to drink in Manhattan on a Friday. Will talk to Rrrr about what she has in mind for dinner -- if most people aren't free maybe we will just walk and sample dumplings.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 21:53 (nineteen years ago)

drinks in brooklyn? i am a fan of drinks in brooklyn!

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 21:55 (nineteen years ago)

Possibly!

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 21:57 (nineteen years ago)

i was drunk twice in brooklyn and once in manhattan last month. not bad considering i was there less than 48 hours.

that reminds me, i need a leather van seat.

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:04 (nineteen years ago)

more people! input! now!

NEED INPUT!

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:14 (nineteen years ago)

NEED INPUT!

it's like easy joke day on the noize board today.

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

I don't have input yet, really. Will know more after tonight. Ian sez he will meet up post-work; Morbs, waht's yr plan?

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

i was thinking more short circuit than.. you know... dirty things...

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:20 (nineteen years ago)

I don't have input yet, really

stop, please, this is killing me!

otto midnight, that 'tofu makes you gay' ding dong (otto midnight), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:21 (nineteen years ago)

if this happens in the wmsburg/gpt area, then i'd be willing to take a break from catching up on the wire/playing in the new kitchen to have a whiskey or two.

Lauren (lauren), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:35 (nineteen years ago)

YES! let's do it!

daddy's? royal oak? pencil factory? pete's? elsewhere?

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

my vote is not royal oak. haven't been to pete's in ages, and i do like their drinks. all other locations mentioned are fine by me as well.

Lauren (lauren), Thursday, 14 December 2006 22:50 (nineteen years ago)

i would go to brooklyn for drinks!
was thinking that saturday would be brooklyn day (coney island, etc with jbr (who is great :) of course) and anyone else who's in.) but obv one can go to brooklyn two days in a row, it has happened.

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 14 December 2006 23:03 (nineteen years ago)

coney island and williamsburg are different brooklyn universes!

petes works for me!

tehresa (tehresa), Thursday, 14 December 2006 23:09 (nineteen years ago)

okay! that's good then - 2 different universes, 2 different days.

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Thursday, 14 December 2006 23:16 (nineteen years ago)

yeah we wanna go to coney island on saturday afternoon/evening. pizza at totonno's, french fries at nathan's, beer at ruby's, skeeball at astroland, junk stores on surf avenue. but we can drink on friday as well!

j.m. goatse (get bent), Thursday, 14 December 2006 23:44 (nineteen years ago)

robyn is totally great, she and i are going to start a hippie commune in the forest (any forest) and build yurts made of hemp and eat nothing but raw quinoa while playing drones and singing witchygothy psych-folk inna mellow candle/comus stylee.

j.m. goatse (get bent), Thursday, 14 December 2006 23:53 (nineteen years ago)

NO GOAT CRUELTY ON MY COMMUNE

j.m. goatse (get bent), Friday, 15 December 2006 01:53 (nineteen years ago)

haha, goat fleece spinning is making me laugh. but i guess you could do it? shear a goat?

i can't wait for commune l-i-v-i-n
you can all visit my awesome yurt/geodesic dome dwelling that will be part of it all. i will give you astrology/therapy/writing-editing sessions in return for your home-grown quinoa and weed.

i would like this to not only be in forest but to be near beach. (hi, west coast islands)

i love you (and i bought bucky fuller's ideas and integrities from a used bookstore in san diego a few weeks ago)

j.m. goatse (get bent), Friday, 15 December 2006 06:11 (nineteen years ago)

i really want to see inland empire; me & dudes from work so rarely actually get our shit together to go do things, though.

ian (orion), Friday, 15 December 2006 06:15 (nineteen years ago)

i saw it the other day! i want to see it again.

j.m. goatse (get bent), Friday, 15 December 2006 06:18 (nineteen years ago)

i will not stop talking about my dome dreams until my dome dreams are fulfilled
i would prob like to read that b fuller book - though my geodome would be way more homey than his ideas, i know this

I need to go to Film Forum after work tnite but wd be out by 9. Could meet you at some point but am considering going to see band whose singer I have made flirty with. I'll see where u settle.

Trip to see babyniece postponed til Christmas, but I have UWS party Sat nite -- but anyone is welcome to meet me at Gay New Wave (Metropolitan bar) around 1 a.m.

Ian, I will see Inland again; mayb we can organize Noise Field Trip during Xmas/New Year interregnum.

Lauren (lauren), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:10 (nineteen years ago)

Sounds fine, with perhaps detour/delay to Academy?

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

bcz of ian? can't he just come over after his shift? or do you want to shop?

Lauren (lauren), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:15 (nineteen years ago)

Because Robyn might like to shop/see rekkid store? And bcz visitors make Ian happy. Will depend on what Rrrrr wants to do!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

sweet. keep me posted. i'll probably have to go straight to the bar.

Lauren (lauren), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:28 (nineteen years ago)

ian (orion), Friday, 15 December 2006 16:39 (nineteen years ago)

j.m. goatse (get bent), Friday, 15 December 2006 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

sonned by office xmas party :(

obi strip (sanskrit), Friday, 15 December 2006 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

aw :(
this'll prob go late though
my brother is also going to come to pete's! is there a good place near the bar for eating good cheap food, not nec pizza or burgers or hot dogs, but something. we both ate lunch late, but eating food before drinking is a good idea... i guess we can eat in the east village though as that is near the L. i get overwhelmed by all the choice there - i want something with, like, vegetables/salad - afganhi? japanese? indian? i do not know. throw me yr recommendations even though it is 6:30 on a fri night and yr prob not online anyway!

impermanent rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Friday, 15 December 2006 23:40 (nineteen years ago)

There are pressed sandwiches at the bar: three meat options, I think, and one vegetarian...? Otherwise nearest food will be near the Lorimer St station where you get off the train. Doubtless one of the Wburg kids can make better recs, I don't know the area that well.

E Village probably better for dinner. I like the Thai place at the corner of 1st St and 1st Ave -- there's a bar on the northeast corner of 1st and 1st with a green awning with 4-leaf clovers on it, I think? A sort of dopey Irish place that wants to also attract lounge customers, a doomed gambit. Anyway, the Thai place is on 1st St just east of that bar. Restaurant is narrow and has tables right in the front window. Anyone else??

Dr M (Dr Morbius), Monday, 18 December 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

ohhh, i skipped out on that doc. mother was in town with godmother...godmother's son's percussion/pianno ensemble had a perfomrance of spectralist works...

that said, my little cinephile freind did go and said it was a mindblowing xperience. good news is that they will do it again in march. that i will do without a doubt. (he called me from some afterparty sort of thing at monkeytown, sounded bonkers).
