Why is this type of phrase so commonly used and why does it have such a weird connotation when said the right (or wrong) way:

"[superlative] _________ ever"

It gives me the shivers. It's like you can;t just say "man that was the best red velvet cupcake ever!" anymore without people being all, "damn dude since when u talk like a fgt?"

i think you sounding like a fag stems from your use of the phrase "red velvet cupcake."

blastocsyt (blastocyst), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 21:06 (nineteen years ago)

grady (grady), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 21:13 (nineteen years ago)

no judgement against the cupcakes themselves! but their name sounds kinda faggy. namedropping a type of fabric really does it, much like "lemon chiffon pie." GAY DESSERT.

elmo albatross, Tuesday, 28 November 2006 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

red velvet cake's are hot right now or something. my mom was talking about them this weekend and i think my sis had one at her recent 18th bday party.

someone said they have beets in them?

jaxon (jaxon), Tuesday, 28 November 2006 21:29 (nineteen years ago)

cheese is something that is small and expensive, and it doesn't rattle around, so it's really easy to steal. when you're on a budget, an expensive cheese can really fancy up the rest of your cheapo crapolo.

cheese is something that is small and expensive, and it doesn't rattle around, so it's really easy to steal. when you're on a budget, an expensive cheese can really fancy up the rest of your cheapo crapolo.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/54/Hamburglar.jpg

The Hamburglar is a fictional character used in marketing campaigns for McDonald's restaurants. The character was originally introduced as part of the McDonaldland campaign in 1971, aimed at young children. The character is a crook known for stealing McDonald's hamburgers (usually, many at a time). The commercials typically followed the same plotline: the Hamburglar steals McDonald's hamburgers, Ronald McDonald devises a plan to trick him, and everybody gets their hamburgers back. He dresses in a black-and-white striped shirt and pants, a black cape, and a wide-brimmed hat. Hamburglar was portrayed by actors Frankie Delfino from 1971 to 1991, and Tommy Vicini from 1983 to present. His vocabulary consisted of nothing other than, "Robble, robble, robble." The voice was provided by Howard Morris. Although he is a thief, he is still considered a friend of Ronald McDonald and the rest of the McDonaldland gang, who appear to tolerate his kleptomania as an eccentricity.

The design of the character changed from the 1970s to 1980s from a more sinister to a more cartoonish face. The age of the character has also changed, as originally he was depicted as an older man, but today is shown as a boy. In addition, his vocabulary has been expanded; he now speaks ordinary English. Despite the changes, he is one of the longest lasting icons of McDonald's advertising campaigns, surpassing many such as Captain Crook, another thief mainly known for stealing McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwiches.

Today's commercials focus mainly on the Ronald McDonald character. However, Hamburglar is still one of the core McDonaldland characters, appearing in the actual restaurants and associated merchandise. Despite this, there has been recent controversy over the image the Hamburglar presents to children. Specifically, parental organizations have begun to lobby McDonald's for the removal of this character due to the fact that he presents theft as a justifiable means of acquiring sustenance.

In Brazil, Hamburglar is known by the name Papaburguer. In Japan, he is known as "bagaa-san". In Germany, he is known as the "Hamburgerklau". In the UK he is no longer used in any advertising or promotions.

Chris Farley was pathetic.

His humour was intended to insult the viewers instead of amusing them.

-- Alexander (mctas...)

Though a lot of people enjoy being insulted, that's what the modern TV is about.

-- Alexander (mctas...)

His humour was intended to insult the viewers instead of amusing them.

What does this even mean, honestly?

Farley had some incredible SNL moments - The Herlihy Boy, the Chris Farley Show, the Weekend Update 'air quotes' character ("maybe I'm not 'hygenic'... Maybe I don't use 'soap', etc.). A lot of his material was written by Bob Odenkirk, who is still a comedy god, awkward-transition-into-feature-films period notwithstanding.

-- Tiki Theater Xymposium (fiestasandsiesta...)

Those are commercial jokes intended ONLY to keep the viewers watching.

I shared my oppinion, now it's up to you either share it or not

PS I like SNL but not Chris Farley.

and his batshitness, unlike, say, chuck's or many other writers i enjoy and respect, isn't even entertaining or well-written, which is the cardinal sin, i think.

I haven't seen a movie musical made in the last whatever amount of years that I actually liked very much to be honest; in fact, most of them I've hated a lot so I don't hold high hopes for any modern movie musical. I might very well be pleasantly surprised if the singing is as good as being touted or if the main performances are good.
