end up staying there longer than I thought - from Dec. 22 to Dec. 28.

so i guess not? too bad. there may well be a baby or two over, at least earlier, before the bass drum basement starts kicking

eh. people like it. it's a brew pub. i'm not that into brew (where's the boozepub?) or pubs, but that's me. getting a dozen people to coordinate is a motherfucker, isn't it. whenever i've tried to get that many people together i've gotten to a point where i think "i could try to elevate every1's game but god *damn* it's a lot of work. what was that abt path of least resistance?" give up give in & get over it, that's all i can think to do. makes me hate planning group outings. kinda makes me hate going to them too.

the location of that place is awesome though. there are clubs and bars and neighborhoods and shops all right near there. it's worth a walk around after (and not just to see the cooler more interesting places you could have gone!). i love the park near there, people always playing soccer and dodgeball til late.

i am also not really into brews or pubs. actually, that's a lie. i used to like trying out different specially crafted brews but now all brews make me feel a little sick. anyway, yes least resistance definitely a factor in location/atmosphere choice. maybe i will try one locally crafted brew and then switch to my normal wine/booze (which i assume they should have), and we will of course make up for large crazy times with smaller things on a diff date. going to a park drunk and watching dodgeball seems fun! i hope the lxy/jergins contingent will deign to brewpub with me.

here's how it went: fap night i had to work late and beyond that, i just wasn't sure if i could go. my mother told me a v v poingant thing once, it was "if u don't have anything nice 1 say don't say nuthin" and i do try to live by that, i do.

so tza went to portland and on her way back we got in touch. i was out in the middle of puget sound at that point, on a boat, but god damn, technology, texting works. we went back and forth and made plans for that night, tuesday. after she'd gotten back from the (always late) train she called and i picked her up. i'd said "i'm 15 minutes away" but got there in 10. picked her up on LQA and we busted up to me and lxy's house. it was a good chat in the car, mostly her work possibilities here in seattle (very exciting). then we got to the house, through that very same back door i'd once been banned from, the key turn resonating like always, and in we went to the kitchen. lxy was there. ppl hugged. we made drinks: whiskey for the ladies, rum for me. then we drank and talked and had the dance music down low. we chatted about work and seattle and portland and rainier beer cans. at one point tza asked someone else "i never asked you about lcd soundsystem" and i volunteered "oh yeah i have lots of opinions about lcd soundsystem." awesome. i mean, it's 2009, who cares a bout them really, but i guess i do. that was the moment i woke up the next morning and thought about, the you-were-too-drunk-plzzzz-shut-up moment. but other than that we had this great laughter filled booze-feuled time. tza didn't drink as much as did but why would she, polite guest with a flight the next morning.

she saw the house, she met lxy, she liked lxy, we laughed. better than any preset FAP imo

a seattle fap w/u guys is pretty much my only aspiration in life

• walk through olympic sculpture park
• hikewalk through gasworks park and volunteer park (plus cool greenhouse thing which was <3)
• shop at uwajimaya
• tour of seattle public library (so cool! except for the weird dude that took our picture while we were looking over the railing into the atrium)

other things not on that list:

• kubota gardens
• kinnear park
• walk around ballard
• walk around fremont
• drinks at elysian, the hideout, linda's, the madison, and l&j's house
• coffee and salted caramel cupcake at some place in ballard that i forget the name of
• drove past beef jerky outlet store lol
• lunch from salumi (x2 bc of leftovers!)
• opera at the moore
• dinner at seven stars pepper szechuan restaurant

• rainforest
• ferry ride
• eat at taste or a vietnamese restaurant
• buy fresh fish at the market and cook it in a delicious fashion

maybe i will come back soon! i sent a fancy letter/proposal today, so now it is time for waiting and seeing.

we also found an amazing chinese place a block away: 7 Star Schezuan Pepper. i have no idea how to spell schezuan. it's at 12th and jackson, hidden in the upstairs of a run-down 2 story, and has to be the best chinese food i've had since i was in china. so great.

we also found an amazing chinese place a block away: 7 Star Schezuan Pepper.

this restaurant has a vegetarian dish. its sauce will eat through styrofoam. seriously.

gah i wanted that job. i think it will never exist.

the girl at my gym was talkin baout 7 stars, too. lol.

sushifap was nice. i saw some asian girls riding in convertibles and waving (seafair, i believe). some of the cars had those headlights that flip up and they had been decorated to look like blinking eyes. then i saw a group of people i identified to be jaq, mr. jaq, the reverend, and the higgs walking across the street up the hill and then down and into the restaurant. i went to join them, and as i was approaching the restaurant door, i received an email from our lurker saying he had flaked and was too far away to get there in time. sad. but the company was lovely nonetheless and my tatakijiji was delicious. i would like to go back sometime and have the spider roll, which looked incredible and unlike any spider roll i have ever seen.

te,he, thanks again for sushifap planning, co-ordination, and execution - it was lovely to meet Clay + sushiwise friend and enjoy delicious fish with everyone. Maybe mysterious lurker will appear for the next one.

i hate flying because now i am scared of crashes (thanks a lot spirit air) and also because i hate watching people stuff their faces all the time in airports/on planes, etc. i think since they started charging for food ppl feel like they are getting cheated and eat MORE. it's gross. also i hate when they won't stop talking on their bluetooth headsets.

yeah i don't understand the *need* to eat on flights unless it's a really long one. i flew from columbus to chicopee, mass. once when skybus existed, and people were buying alcohol! on a 1.5 hour (?) flight! in the morning! and i don't like to be stuffed in with people who are eating either. the whole experience is just gross to me, flying.

There's a Tutta Bella pizza place there and a bbq place and a bakery. And a fabulous old-school barbershop. Not near the station though, don't really know what is near it.

t, did you see the custom hat/shoe shop in Madrona? at the far south end of the little strip of shops, east side of the street. St. Clouds makes great drinks btw and has good food. My son worked at Cafe Soliel for awhile, also does great breakfasts on the weekends. And the big Catholic church there? It's your patron St. Therese. We used to live next door to it.

ok so really i did nothing in madrona except meet someone for coffee at the hi spot.

ooooh st. therese! i will have to tell my parents when they visit! that is actually the correct patron saint (the little flower), not the more popular teresa of avila.

Hi Spot is also good - always packed on the weekends though. There's a winery next door (Wilridge) that used to do volunteer bottling - you could work for a weekend and bring home a 1/2 case of their (highly rated and spendy) wine as payment. I would do that again, if they still do it.
