Do you like water? Do you dislike water? How much do you drink? Are you weird about it? Like will you not drink it from the tap, or do you have a bottled water preference? Do you like it fizzy? Etc.

I like water. I drink at least a quart of it at work everyday in a bottle that I fill from a filter faucet. Unfiltered tap water in Mid Missouri tastes weird. I don't do fizzy water much. I try to stay away from plastic bottles.

Milk is the beverage that freaks me out tbh.

I encourage people to drink more water. A lot of people don't drink enough water. That leads to discomfort, in my experience.

i drink lots and lots of water, and get uncomfortable if i don't have a bottle or full glass with me at all times (taking a bottle when i leave the house and filling up a bedside glass when i go to sleep are non-negotiable rituals). am fine with tap water. i buy still mineral water when i need to replace the bottle i carry around with me. usually evian but that's just habit rather than anything i care about.

I have found that sparkling water is nice for hangovers.

water is my go-to drink. I generally confine myself to one cuppa coffee in the a.m. and some wine with dinner. Other than that it is water all day every day. The tap water in my town is quite nice, because it comes out of the Clackamas River, which is fed by watersheds in the Cascade mountains.

1. I love water. I grew up drinking well water in northern Minnesota and in Montana. It was super delicious and FUCKING FREEZING straight out of the tap. Later in life I learned that not all well water is delicious (hello, saline and sulfurous wells).

2. Room temp or warm water disgusts me. I will only drink it in very extreme situations. If I'm at home and very thirsty, but out of cold water and out of ice, I will go to the store and buy cold water.

I get irrationally annoyed at people who leave their Brita pitchers out of the fridge, and/or say they don't like cold water or they prefer it luke.

Chicago's tap water is very good. I don't use the Brita anymore. I just keep two pitchers of water in the fridge.

I feel the same! Plus I am strict about hand-washing, so ev time I pee I have to wash again and then moisturize again or else my hands itch and crack and it's just a total pain.

I am very conscious of my water intake but often I'll 'binge', as in drink 20-30 oz at a time, rather than sip. I don't really have the discipline or whatever to always have a full bottle on/around me. Anyway this kind of bothers me that I'm probably just pissing most of my water away rather than actually hydrating myself. Any hard science on the topic is welcome.

I wish I had said this before so it wouldn't sound like I'm being contrary, but for me there's a sweet spot of dilution by melting ice. At a certain point, the drink reaches maximum coldness and is watered down to a point I enjoy. Mostly the case w/ soda and iced tea. Esp. w/ iced tea. I might have learned this from an ex-bf.

This statement was really just a reference to the situation with my friend who hates to go to the bathroom and also suffers chronic headaches.

I love me some water, I drink 1-2 litres a day at work, less when at home (I guess not being in aircon makes me less thirsty?). Nothing but water seems to actually thirst-quench, for me.

I drink lots of water. I drink from the tap at home, but it's well water and we have a pretty extensive filtration system. The preferred method is over ice in a big old mason jar. I also keep a 12 pack of flavored seltzer around.

There is a bottle delivery service at work and I probably drink 40 oz or so a day from the cooler.

about 6-7 years ago i got in the habit of taking a bottle of water with me everywhere i went, like a refillable one (the current model is a big metal orange thermos-type thing), and i feel like my general health and sense of well being has been much improved ever sense. i think i get dehydrated easily, or at least i tend to feel parched very easily.

the last week or so i was traveling and visiting family and i couldn't take the bottle w/ me on the plane and only thought to take it with me throughout the week, so now i feel all sick and dehydrated and blame it on that.

people rail against bottled water but I think it's a valuable service, it's better than drinking soda on the go

I drink a lot of water. We have a faucet mount filter at home and a water cooler at work but I'm not squeamish about drinking out of the tap. We keep a bottle of water in the fridge because we never have ice because we don't really use it, because we keep a bottle of water in the fridge…

Sorry, that sounds closed-minded, but man, actually-warm water sounds literally nauseating.

I drink water, cold but no ice, 3 or 4 large glasses/day. There's a Brita pitcher kept in the fridge for drinking (also several sodastream bottles full of plain water b/c cold water carbonates so much better), and there's one left out on the counter for making tea and coffee. Water straight out of the tap is good here, but the Britas are some kind of weird habit. It's not like we change the filters religiously.

I also drink two cups of either tea or coffee every morning and have 3 cans of diet Coke every day (with vanilla syrup if I'm at home). Wine with dinner every so often; beer and cocktails occasionally. No juice, no caloric sodas, no milk.

I like room temp water but Melb's water is very clean and tastes good (well, most of the time, occasionally it is v vagely bleachy), but the water in Perth is GODAWFUL, in the north anyway, it is incredibly chloriney and has a strange soapy/salty taste and the only way I could stomach it was icy cold which killed any "flavour" in it blegh. Canberra's tap water tastes like a swimming pool :(

Since I lost my sense of smell I prefer Coke Zero and regular Coke. Both used to taste too sweet, and Diet Coke had a nice light "crispness" about it. When I got anosmia, Diet started tasting like garlic, which was weird.

i used to just drink a couple glasses of ice water a day but then a gastroenterologist with a bow tie scolded me and now i'm up to like 3.5 liters/day, from a smartwater bottle which i fill with regular dumbwater. i had a v. strict preference for freezing too but it was surprisingly easy to kick. when i get anything else though i blitz it with ice. and then eat all the ice.

I was arguing with a friend on FB about the cult of hydration. She was saying she was trying to drink more water b/c she was always dehydrated. I really, really doubt that many people are actually regularly dehydrated. The eight-glasses-a-day thing is kinda malarky. The bottled water industry has been successful in convincing us that we're dehydrated, I think.

I mean, the body is pretty good at telling you when it needs water. Unless your nervous system has some kind of glitch, you probably can drink fluids when you're thirsty and all will be well.

Or if you have gotten into some kind of disordered hydration habit. Which I guess is pretty likely if people are saying "I hate water."

Maybe another reason I don't care for home ice is because when I have ice, I eat it and home ice isn't very fun to eat.

When a friend of mine was pregnant, she used to crave ice from a very specific Burger King and would often go out at inconvenient hours to just get giant cups of their ice.

If you piss about 5 to 7 times a day, you're adequately hydrated, unless you are introducing obvious diuretics into your system, such as several cups of coffee. That throws everything out of whack.

Which reminds me: that side of the family, which is made up entirely of horrible people, hate water. My s-i-l's mother drinks literally ONLY Diet Rite.

My s-i-l's close friend puts Mountain Dew in her babies' bottle as a "treat" while they were nursing, and later because "they like it" and "water is gross" ("it rusts your insides lol!"). The s-i-l would probably have done something stupid like that, but my brother put strict limits on the kids' soda intake. Even so, she would sneak sugar in their water b/c "water is gross," nevermind that my niece loved plain water as a toddler.

Not quite that shape, but Manitowoc's SM50. residential ice machine does make these terrific, perfectly clear, gem-like octagonal ice cubes. It's what I hope to have in my kitchen someday. Once you try these you'll never want to go back to the smelly, cloudy-white ice crescents that your refrigerator makes again.

Scotsman makes a good undercounter ice machine too, and less expensive, which makes cylindrical ice. Every other residential undercounter ice machine i'm aware of makes boring rectangular cubes, although they'll still taste good and be perfectly clear.

must have lemon because i just don't really like drinking plain water. this is probably cause i grew up in a town with very chemical-ly tasting water, i always hated drinking water as a kid. now that i've discovered the magic of putting lemon in my water, i drink it constantly, and have stopped drinking soda almost completely.

that said, soda water is awesome. i went through a diabetes scare + doctor complaining about my "liver numbers" and suggesting i cut back on teh booze, so i stopped consuming sugar but needed something non-alcoholic to drink at the bar that wasn't sweet sugary coke. soda water totally works for that, and bonus, bartenders usually give it to me free

Not quite that shape, but Manitowoc's SM50. residential ice machine does make these terrific, perfectly clear, gem-like octagonal ice cubes. It's what I hope to have in my kitchen someday. Once you try these you'll never want to go back to the smelly, cloudy-white ice crescents that your refrigerator makes again.

I don't think those are chewable like the pellets (the website for a commercial ice maker company actually said "often called 'rabbit turds'") I like. Apparently the pellet extrusion machines are impractical for residential use at this time. Or they were in 2011. Maybe now that it's the future things are different.

since i got a 32oz nalgene last christmas i have drank at least 1 gal of water a day and have been more energetic, had better bowel movements, been hungover less, and had little to no acne. i prefer it just below room temperature, sometimes drinking very cold water is shocking.

also i feel compelled to drink tap water because though i know it contains things that are probably bad for me i have been told by my girlfriend that it's good for your immune system. and i haven't gotten sick in a very long time. and basically i do whatever she says because she's always right.
