tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 00:29 (fifteen years ago) link

tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 00:33 (fifteen years ago) link

lxy, what is your favorite seattle cemetery?

i meant to see the cemetery on the island yesterday but i forgot and passed it on my way down from mini-hike :(

tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:15 (fifteen years ago) link

what are those squarish things?

spite n ease (harbl), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:25 (fifteen years ago) link

great great love the night pictures and the squares. are they farming something??

alex hart jr. (jergins), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:31 (fifteen years ago) link

it is salt flats

tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:37 (fifteen years ago) link

really great work, everybody! i was gonna say salt farming but you beat me to it!

i like best the grand army cemetery at the end of volunteer park. it's really old and teeny, and it's just right in a neighborhood. it's cool.

i also like calvary cemetery in bryant. i could see it from my dorm.

lxy, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:50 (fifteen years ago) link

i have more to come i hope it is not overwhelming!

i will check out all this cemeteries.

tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 01:53 (fifteen years ago) link

so it looks like we are not coming to seattle in september now ;_;

we're going to chicago instead for this walk-for-cancer type thing for our niece

smoove operator, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 03:04 (fifteen years ago) link

jergins, Tuesday, 7 July 2009 03:05 (fifteen years ago) link

nooooooooo

tehersa (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 03:10 (fifteen years ago) link

unfortunately the cancer thing is the same weekend as the bike thing in seattle, and even if it wasn't i can't afford to take too much time off work... pretty gutted, but we'll make it there sometime soon. i'm determined!

i can only hear cars :(

te,he (tehresa), Sunday, 12 July 2009 03:48 (fifteen years ago) link

it was quiet and rumbly, far to the north so you might not have been able to hear it anyway

lxy, Sunday, 12 July 2009 04:22 (fifteen years ago) link

sometimes i think i am hearing thunder but it's really just a car going by (when the window's closed).

te,he (tehresa), Sunday, 12 July 2009 08:25 (fifteen years ago) link

i heard thunder today :)

te,he (tehresa), Monday, 13 July 2009 02:46 (fifteen years ago) link

it's been loud! and a lot!

lxy, Monday, 13 July 2009 03:11 (fifteen years ago) link

my dog hates thunder, it makes him cry. the rest of the time, apart from when there are fireworks which he also hates, he's brave and cheerful.

i would like to call bullshit on a dance company that thinks they can hire a devo director for $13/hour!
i would laugh if i were not so outraged! they are in nyc and seawa, too. you'd think they'd understand.

spite n ease (harbl), Thursday, 16 July 2009 01:51 (fifteen years ago) link

that looks terrible. do people usually fail first time?

estela, Thursday, 16 July 2009 01:52 (fifteen years ago) link

if you fail do you get credit for the bits you passed or do you have to do it all again? and how long is the exam, does it run across several days?

t. silaviver, Thursday, 16 July 2009 01:57 (fifteen years ago) link

i can't watch your youtube t. si, my internet is slow

estela it is two days. the first day is state-specific essays, 10 25-minute essay questions followed by one 90-minute "multistate performance test." the second day is 200 multistate multiple choice questions, which are difficult but i am confident i will do ok on that part (it only encompasses i think 6 subjects). unfortunately you get one score for all of it and if you fail you have to take it ALL again and it's only offered in february and july.

now i am just scared because i didn't want to pay to take the course (it's $3000) so i just bought the books on ebay and what if i didn't do a good enough job teaching myself? but i have done a lot of practice multiple choices, now i am doing essays until i die. the course might just be overkill too, to make sure all the slow people learn enough

spite n ease (harbl), Thursday, 16 July 2009 02:06 (fifteen years ago) link

since i suspect you might be a genius your approach was probably the right one but good luck, miss,

estela, Thursday, 16 July 2009 02:56 (fifteen years ago) link

u can do it, harbs!

te,he (tehresa), Thursday, 16 July 2009 06:46 (fifteen years ago) link

ps lots of people pass the 1st time!! don't let them psych u out!

te,he (tehresa), Thursday, 16 July 2009 06:46 (fifteen years ago) link

where is our dearly beloved jergins lately?

spite n ease (harbl), Friday, 17 July 2009 15:17 (fifteen years ago) link

harbl, it is obvious from your postings that you have an agile and capable mind and I know it is ridiculous to tell someone to relax b/c they are going to do great and all that. But I hope you can and that all your well-done prep just bubbles up and out when you are in that testing environment. Have you thought about getting someone to record a podcast of all the things you aren't feeling as well-versed in and using it for sleep-learning? Make sure it's someone with a soothing sonorous voice who wouldn't dream of playing a practical joke on you.
