that was an o, not an unequivocal statement, i am not a candy strident.

hot tamales and necco wafers are tops in the field of trashy candy, you people.

he can be a bit of a candy tsker though i am sorry to say.
i would be dismayed if he were perfectly perfect so i am glad to learn of this one shortcoming.

I'm not really that into candy and I don't like necco wafers I hope this does not affect our relationships.

milk chocolate-covered pretzels are my new love
― smoove operator, Thursday, 25 June 2009 02:56 (fifteen years ago) link
i like necco but haven't had in probably 18-20 years. i remember being on some ill-advised college road trip up to cambridge,ma circa 1984 and stumbing across the factory in the wee hours of the morning.
― t. silaviver, Thursday, 25 June 2009 03:17 (fifteen years ago) link
I would torch that factory. Burnt sugar smells better than necco wafers taste.

Necco wafers are often used as stand-ins for communion wafers by children who are practicing for the Eucharist

We practiced for first communion with unblessed communion wafers. I think practicing with necco wafers might have turned me off to the sacrament, though in retrospect, that would probably have been a good thing
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 03:56 (fifteen years ago) link
Molasses disaster haunting smell reminds me of the maple syrup smell in nyc but apparently it was just because there was a plant in nj that made maple syrup flavoring.
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 03:58 (fifteen years ago) link
if that factory ever ends up burning i am going to make a swift citizen's arrest and then i will get a medal from the police for solving the necco case.

― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:22 (fifteen years ago) link
who is being disloyal! you, for arsoning our candy factory, that's who!
this is pot-kettle if i ever heard it, sister.
― lxy, Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:24 (fifteen years ago) link
You are more loyal to a crappy candy than your sandbox sister! Sheesh!
There is a police outside my house right now but not for me for a vehicular offender. It makes my room like a disco club.
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:26 (fifteen years ago) link
a) it's not crappy it's wonderful and deliciousb) why can't our candy factories co-exist peacefully c) i gave you a beautiful plant, for pitysake, and this is the thanks i get in returnd) disco club sounds nice!
― lxy, Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:30 (fifteen years ago) link
A) I don't agreeB) our candies can exist fine, just keep me away from that there factory C) I have yet to see the plant (not accusing just sayin)D) it was aight
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:33 (fifteen years ago) link
tough love sandbox style is still love u know.
― estela, Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:36 (fifteen years ago) link
well naturally i became defensive when you threatened to destroy the factory that makes a candy i like so well. i admit i took it as a personal affront. after all, why shouldn't i be able to enjoy necco wafers just because you don't? i mean, i don't go around threatening to burn down the corn nuts factory even though they are the most odious thing known to man!
...
although come to think of it, i am beginning to understand your viewpoint. i've got some soul-searching to do.
― lxy, Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:54 (fifteen years ago) link
oh man, what about those fuckin red vines???
― smoove operator, Thursday, 25 June 2009 05:56 (fifteen years ago) link
Sigh. Don't worry, I never go to mass anyway but I am sure that factory would not give me the same feeling of warmth and wholesomeness as the general mills factory in buffalo. Driving by you can smell warm cheerios. It makes me think of summers at grandma's (before I realized she didn't like me all that much).
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 06:01 (fifteen years ago) link
I fear I have veered off topic.
I am sitting here drinking seltzer.
― tehersa (tehresa), Thursday, 25 June 2009 06:02 (fifteen years ago) link
i like how the ladies of the sandbox dont get feisty about boys or politics or music or fashion, just candy
― prince albert was the man (jergins), Thursday, 25 June 2009 06:05 (fifteen years ago) link
i like that too, a lot.
― estela, Thursday, 25 June 2009 10:13 (fifteen years ago) link
