I have a strange fondness for Baby Come Back. Is there anything else I should hear?

You were wrong, and you just can't live without them.

Baby Come Back is one of my all time favorite songs. i have the greatest hits (that i can get you) but it's all pretty much the same, but not as good.

But there's something in everything about them.

you need to hear the Vanessa Hudgens single!

(btw that's not a cryptic comment--the hook from "baby come back" is used in Hudgens's "Come Back to Me")

Is there something about "Baby Come Back" that appeals to jazz/prog dorks? I've always liked it too.

Did Player really have enough other hits to make a GH album?

BTW what do you guys think of that updated loungey beats mix they made of the song? I don't think it adds much but it's not really bad either.

AFAIK "This Time I'm In It For Love" from the same album as "Baby Come Back" was their only other real hit. What I'd really like to hear though is where that guitar solo goes to in the final fade on BCB.

Yeah, probably. It's got great chord changes, and it has that sweet 70s half-time funk/slow jam groove. And I love the syrupy guitar leads.

Incidentally, I'm also getting into Michael McDonald-era Doobies right now and the past year has been a big Steely Dan reconsideration period for me as well.

BABY COME BACK!"

"BCB" was the hold music for the Missing Child Hotline on "The Simpsons."
