Happy Christmas one and all!

Anyone else opening their presents on Christmas Eve?

ShariVari, Saturday, 24 December 2011 21:27 (twelve years ago) link

No. However I do know that I'll be receiving enough chocolate to stun a horse.

We open presents Christmas Eve and have stockings and Santa presents for our kids on Christmas morning. Christmas Day is usually going to my parent's house and exchanging presents with that side of the family.

Also gr8: R-C tradition of cheese fondue and chocolate fondue for Christmas Eve dinner.

went to Polish friend's for Christmas Eve meal and they open their presents tonight. then they do some more tomorrow, which hardly seems fair.

I am posting from inside a superb blanket fort in the living room with my 2.5 year old nephew. It is confined and smells kind of poopy, but it is also pretty awesome and now we are going to watch My Neighbor Totoro.

And then Monday I work again!-

The Christmas Mass in Rome had been brought forward two hours from midnight (23:00) to 22:00 in order to spare the 84-year-old Pope a late night.

I bet he just wanted to hit the bars before closing time.

estela, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 07:44 (eleven years ago) link

my mother told me yesterday that once upon a time my dad's mother was visiting and became enraged about something, knocked over the christmas tree, and left! i was not surprised but wow.

t, i am sorry for your tree and ornaments :(

tehresa, Saturday, 29 December 2012 15:08 (eleven years ago) link

it was quite a shock but the damage was only about a dozen or so ornaments, but 5-6 of the old family heirlooms (not really - they were five&dime purchases by my parents probably in the early 60s, the box had the price written in pencil, $1.69 i think)also 2 really nice ones we picked up in eastern europe about 20 years ago.
anyway, the tree is well anchored now and looks good
maybe i will post a pic later

hi & merry christmas, ours was very pleasant and i wish the same for all the sandboxers.
we had some friends over and when we'd finished eating i picked harry up (who had been sitting by my chair feigning starving to death) and put him on my lap and he immediately swooped his head down and licked the tablecloth, it was a disgrace.
