drinkable morphine pretty much guaranteed to keep you on the seat of ease for hours, straining until you get a hernia.

I have done that very thing!

I was three or thereabouts, and put my hand through a plate glass window panel that was in the door to my bedroom, at my grandmas in South Shields. The light was off and I didn't know the door was closed.

Fortunately my hand/arm got no injury but my chin got slashed. I went to hospital for stitches. Still have a bit of a scar there.

Voice recognition software, like Dragon maybe, for computering?

Looks that way! Apparently recovery time is three months best case. I've had bad experiences with Dragon before (after an RSI bout in 2002), have you tried it?

Otherwise I'm mending slowly, though trying to peel a banana with one hand is a heartbreaker. I butter toast by thwacking the knife up and down like a hammer, which is funnier and therefore less sad.

My wife uses Dragon all the time, and it's fine for her, but I do know other people have problems. She doesn't have a strong (Australian, in our case) accent, though.
